Doi Mae Salong
Doi Mae Salong to Santi Kiri village, KMT Yunnan Chinese Refugee settlement on the high mountain. Well-known as the largest tea area in Thailand, surrounded by tea plantations, and hill tribe villages, mixed lifestyle between Chinese and hill tribes.
Chiang Rai Walking Street opens on every Saturday, from 16:00-24:00. It takes place on Thanalai Street at the middle of Chiang Rai downtown. A good places to go shopping and finding something to eat after the sunset. There are many foods, souvenirs, and traditional items for sale.
Wat Huay Pla Kang in Chiang Rai, also known as “Big Buddha of Chiang Rai”, is known for its enormous white statue of Guanyin. The recently built temple sits on a hill in the rural area North of Chiang Rai town.
Tham Luang cave has been well known from the operation to rescue trapped 12 young footballers and their coach. The rescue operation was supported from both domestic and international cooperation. And after 9 days, the Thai cave boys and their coach were finally out at last, safe and sound.
Doi Tung is the location of Doi Tung royal development project, Mae Fah Luang Garden and Doi Tung Royal Villa (former residence of Princess Mother Srinagarindra). Besides that, on the peak of the mountain is where one of the most sacred double pagodas, Pha that doi tung, are located.
